The weekend of February 4 and 5 was again as usual all about the diving fair, Duikvaker in Houten. With our complete team we were again ready at the booth of Thalassa Dive Resort Indonesia with a cozy corner decorated with all kinds of fun stuff. Our gadgets, all in the sign of the sea and diving, were for sale for the foundation. We had a large collection of suitcase labels, stuffed animals large and small, hats, key chains, epoxy spoon pendants and glass jewelry. All the volunteers proudly wore their new outfit, a purple polo shirt with the logo and name of the foundation.
Many fairgoers visited our “little store” and while enjoying a cup of coffee it was occasionally one big reunion of all kinds of sponsors and guests of Thalassa. With a good sales pitch and explanation of the foundation’s purpose, many bought one or more items or gave a spontaneous donation.
After two busy and very enjoyable days of fair, we can look back on a very successful weekend and an almost empty store with fantastic proceeds for the foundation.
